1 API Key Authentication

ⓘ Where to find your API key
Your API key authentic you to the Insight engine. It's the same key used for the YaLIM Cloud portal MCP connector.
How to get your API key
  1. Log in to the YaLIM Cloud Portal
  2. Navigate to Settings → API Keys (or ask your admin)
  3. Copy your MCP API key (starts with ymcp_)
  4. Paste it in the field above and click Authenticate

Choose the language model used for SQL generation and explanations. Sovereign = local Ollama, no data leaves the cluster. Performance = any OpenAI-compatible API (only aggregated figures + metadata labels are sent). Changes apply immediately, no restart needed, and survive engine restarts.

2 Connect DHIS2 Instance

How to create a Personal Access Token (PAT) in DHIS2
  1. Log in to your DHIS2 instance
  2. Click your username (top-right) → Profile
  3. Scroll to Personal access tokens section
  4. Click Generate new token
  5. Name it (e.g. "Insight Analytics"), set expiry, ensure Read permissions are checked
  6. Click Generate — copy the token immediately (it starts with d2pat_)
  7. Paste it in the Personal Access Token field above

Note: PAT requires DHIS2 version 2.36 or later. For older versions, use Password authentication instead.

Security: Your token is sent directly to your DHIS2 server. It is never stored on the Insight engine — only used for the current session.
